 During this journey, we will explore the stories behind some of the Himalayan goddesses of wisdom and compassion whose embodiments and images are beloved by praticioners around the world. We will journey inot Tibet on the famous train from Chengdu and spend time in and around Tsedang and Lhasa before flying to Nepal's bustling capital city of Kathmandu. Acharya Judith Simmer-Brown, PhD, is a professor and past Chair of Religious Studies at Naropa University and a prominent Buddhist scholar. She is also author of Dakini's Warm Breath: The Feminine Principle in Tibetan Buddhism. She travels and teaches in North America, Europe, and Asia, teaching meditation practice, Buddhist philosophy, tantric Buddhism, women and Buddhism and inter-religious dialogue. During the spring of 2008 she was a guest teacher at Florida International University. More recently, she has been teaching across North America a workshop called "Romantic Fantasy, Everyday Disappointment: Meditation and Relationships."
